Definition

Chondrocalcinisis, also known as gout and peudogout, is an inflammation of the joints. This condition is characterized mainly by joint pains and calcifications that destroy the joint cartilage.

Diagnosis

Patients with the disease usually complain about pain in the joints, especially in the elbows, knees and hips.

Treatment

The illness is usually treated by NSAIDs to stop the swelling and prevent from recurring.

Symptoms

Chondrocalcinisis is cause by the accumulation of adenosine triphosphate in the joints, wherein it crystallizes and causes ruptures in the joint tissues. Because of this, the joints tend to swell.

Causes

Chondrocalinisis is diagnosed radiography, MRIs and CT scans.
